hope and well-being

Who We Are

Roshni Ghar is a mental health community organisation based in Keighley with outreach extending to Bradford. We offer culturally sensitive mental health and well-being support to adult South Asian women and BME young women diagnosed with mental ill health. Roshni Ghar provides early intervention, relapse prevention and peer-led support. Clients are assigned a keyworker and offered a 12-month recovery plan which entails 1 to 1 support, group therapy, and creative and fitness activities. Women with severe and complex mental ill health are also supported, both in acute and community settings, as well as at home, via home visits and wellbeing calls.

Roshni Ghar operates a holistic health model and also looks at the wider determinants to positive mental wellbeing such as socio-economic circumstances, isolation, and provides appropriate provisions to meet specific needs. Self-Care and well-being are key aspects of the work done at Roshni Ghar and culturally appropriate counselling sessions are provided in community languages to help effect positive and lasting change.
